ode to subway [Mar. 30th, 2005|09:02 pm]

[music |stomach sizzling]

wearing my john kerry shirt to subway this evening.. i was asked who john kerry was by the man at the counter. his friend answered him to say that he was a LOSER. and then i was called a loser by the guy who works at subway and automatically my sandwich was made a meal.
So.. John Kerry is a loser. So am I. George Bush is the president and workers under him run out of honey oat bread at more than one subway in the same night and are completely isolated from the rest of the world.

I hate to follow, but i really want to know

If you read this,
even if i don't speak to you often,
you must post a memory of me.
it can be anything you want, it can be good or bad,
just so long as it happened.
then post this to your journal. See what people remember about you....

whenever i see laura we can always pick up from where we left off. I always come back from philly with witty laura language and new made-up words like conjeebled or faushed. listening to van morrison in her car driving up her street and then around her neighborhood once more in order to hear the last of her "mellow mix" screaming "and the rain let up and the sun came up"...until we finally have to surrender to stopping the music and parking her car. we bring the music to a dramatic fade out.

time to update [Jan. 19th, 2005|08:11 pm]

I hate the people who work at staples. I just spent about an hour driving to staples for posterboard and was unsuccessful in just buying one white sheet of paper. What has the world come to? I was forced to buy a poster with clouds imprinted in the background. I attempted to buy just one sheet becuase a small sticker said one piece was 49 cents. The sticker to my dismay later on was ripped and said $7.49 for 10 pieces of posterboard. This is a journal entry that my grampa would write. I remember finding a letter he once wrote to my mom at camp that soley explained how he negotiated the cost of a watch band down to something like 50 cents... maybe one day ill have those skills.
I'm feeling good. I haven't updated in a while so why not now when I'm actually doing an economics project on "the economics of senioritis"? My back has been feeling so much better lately. I'm on a natural high that I would rather spend going back to the days of Nintendo 64 then do a midterm poster.

something nice [Dec. 5th, 2004|10:34 pm]

"One final paragraph of advice: do not burn yourselves out. Be as I am -a reluctant enthusiast....a part-time crusader, a half-hearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it’s still here. So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breath deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to the body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much; I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those desk-bound men and women with their hearts in a safe deposit box, and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this; You will outlive the bastards."

Halloween [Oct. 31st, 2004|11:33 pm]
muhammadali
So its 11:33 and there is a reason for this. It is not because I had test takers tonight because that only helped me to realize I should be more efficient with my college applications... It is not because I was trick or treating in a spiderman costume all night because the only real halloween part of my night was learning a kindergarten Halloween song from Katie and then unsuccessfully trying to find trick or treaters in Adrien's car. It is definitely not the homework factor either as I haven't been able to do Spanish homework at home this entire year.. it clearly happaned somewhere along the lines of feeling incredibly reflective and full of dangerous energy that finally sucked me into being a live journal addict. So here I am already procrastinating many minutos of time going nowehere though already I'm finding it somehow enjoyable.
